Information stored by the app

The app saves your practice settings, exercise results, and recent sessions so you can continue with your preferred settings and review your progress. Records include answers, attempts, mistakes, response times, and session dates.

If you import a game, the app saves its moves and PGN information. This can include player names, ratings, dates, events, and other information supplied in the original PGN. Personal imported games are not anonymized.

This information is stored privately on your device or in your iCloud account. The app does not send your practice history or imported games to the developer. It has no advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics software, and it does not require a separate app account.

iCloud and local storage

When iCloud is available, the app uses private iCloud storage to synchronize your practice history, settings, and imported games across your devices. This app-managed storage is not presented as a document for you to manage in Files or Finder. The developer has no access to it through the app.

When iCloud is unavailable, the app can use local device storage. Copies may remain on your devices, and synchronization may occur later when iCloud becomes available. Apple's services and backups are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Purchases

Apple processes the Full Game Library purchase. The app checks Apple's purchase information on your device to determine which features are unlocked. The app does not receive your payment card details or send purchase records to a developer-operated server.

Your choices and deletion

Use Settings → Reset Statistics to clear saved exercise history and recent sessions. This keeps your practice settings, imported games, and purchase.

To remove an imported game, open it in the Library and choose Delete Imported Game. This removes the app's saved game; it does not delete your original PGN file or erase past practice results associated with that game.

Changes can take time to synchronize. An offline device or older local copy may later restore older data. Deletion in the app does not immediately remove every copy from devices, file versions, or Apple's backups. Uninstalling the app or turning off iCloud does not necessarily delete data already stored in iCloud. Apple's device settings provide controls for iCloud storage and backups.

Support correspondence

If you email support, the developer receives your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to respond to your request and investigate reported problems. Avoid sending passwords, payment details, or private game files that are unnecessary for your request.

Support email is handled through Gmail, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Correspondence may be retained to handle your request and related follow-up. You can ask for deletion of support correspondence by emailing trickfest@gmail.com; any applicable legal retention requirements or provider backup limitations may affect what can be removed immediately. The developer cannot remotely delete the app data in your private iCloud account.

Diagnostics and feedback

The app does not include its own crash-reporting or analytics service. Apple may provide diagnostics or feedback to the developer through its services, depending on your settings and participation in programs such as TestFlight. This information may be used to investigate problems and improve the app.

Website and external links

These website pages are hosted on Microsoft Azure. They do not use advertising, analytics scripts, tracking cookies, or contact forms. The hosting provider may process ordinary web-request information, such as IP addresses and requested pages, to deliver and protect the site. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

If you follow a link to Apple, Lichess, or another external site, that site's privacy practices apply. The developer does not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated as the app or its services change. The effective date above will identify the current version.
